Transport of two satellite containers by the MN Colibri
December 8th, 2022
On November 17, the vessel MN Colibri arrived in Port St Louis du Rhône from Port Canaveral in Florida to discharge two satellite containers owned by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus.
Owned by the Compagnie Maritime Nantaise ‐ MN, a subsidiary of the Sogestran Group, the MN Colibri is a French‐flagged ro‐ro vessel perfectly suited to transporting very high valueadded, sensitive and/or dangerous cargo. For reminder, this vessel managed last year the James Webb telescope transportation between California (United States) and French Guiana.
Since the beginning of this year, the MN Colibri and her sister vessel MN Toucan have transported the Eutelsat Konnect VHTS and MTG‐I1 satellites to Kourou and the Eutelsat 10B to Port Canaveral on behalf of Thales Alenia Space.
Fulfilling the logistical requirements of its customers MN takes part in demonstrating the maritime transport prove to be a suitable alternative for high sensitive cargos as Satellites.
